Coconut Rose Salt Scrub

Dull winter skin is kind of the worst. In the cold months, it seems I'm always looking for ways to get my skin feeling more, well, summer-y. I'm all about dewy and hydrated and I am so excited to share my latest creation. A super moisturizing (and gentle!) coconut rose salt scrub.

It is so easy. You only need three ingredients and about five minutes. It smells amazing and your skin will feel fabulous. I think you'll be hooked.

Get yourself some:

Himalayan Sea Salt (You'll want it fine, so either buy the fine or you can buy the coarse and grind it yourself)

Coconut Oil (You may want to get something with a mild coconut scent or consider the refined coconut oil as opposed to the virgin as that is a more neutral scent. Anything super coconut-y would compete with the delicious rose geranium oil. You could also skip the essential oil and just have your scrub smell like coconut, too if you prefer.)

Rose Geranium Oil

When making a salt scrub, the rule of thumb is that the salt to oil ratio is 2:1. I made small jars that each had 1 cup of salt and 1/2 cup of coconut oil. You can make any size batch you like, just keep the ratio in mind.

First, I softened the coconut oil a bit to make it easier to mix. I popped the bowl in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Next, I added the salt. I decided to add in an essential oil. Not only did this give the scrub a gentle and refreshing smell, it also gave it some additional benefits. Uplifting mood, reducing stress and anxiety, lessening fatigue, helping aching muscles, and promoting overall emotional wellness are some of the things I found in my research. I added a few drops to each batch. Just remember, if you add a lot, you may want to either increase the amount of salt you use, or decrease the coconut oil, so that the scrub doesn't get too oily.

Once you have all three ingredients in your bowl, all you have to do is mix, mix, mix. Easiest ever, right? The scrub smells so good and it feels amazing. My skin is really sensitive and oftens scrubs are too harsh. This is gentle, yet still gives results, leaving your skin super silky smooth.

I hope you love it as much as I do! xo
