The Easiest, Most Boo-tiful DIY Ghost Bag

Gosh, it hardly seems possible fall is upon on. We always hold onto summer for as long as we possibly can, and we are slowly but surely getting into the spirit.

I wanted to share this really easy, inexpensive, and oh so sweet little DIY you can make for (or with!) your darlings this year. I had been thinking of an alternative for her boo bucket, and had the idea to try to make her a little tote she can use through the season. (It’d even be fun for trick or treating too!)

Bow clad ghosts are our Halloween signature so I thought I’d give it a try and I think it turned out so sweet! (Of course, it’d be really cute on it’s own too, if you don’t want to add the bow.)

You just need a few minutes and a few things—

1 White Tote (I got mine from Hobby Lobby but this one is almost identical!)

Glitter felt (I purchased pastel blush and white)

Fabric Glue

Scissors

Tulle or fabric if you want to include a bow

Simply cut your eyes and mouth. I free-handed mine but did try it on paper first to make sure I liked the size. I did ovals for both the eyes and the mouth, but made the mouth much larger. To make our ghoul extra girly, I added eyelashes which I cut thin strips for- three for each eye. (For reference, the bag I got is approximately 13” x 13.5” not including the handles, and my eyes are about 2” tall and the mouth is about 3.5”. They are not perfect, so do not worry if yours aren’t either!)

Once you have all your pieces cut, all you have to do is glue them on where you like them! Let it dry flat for a while and then if you want your ghost to have a bow, simply tie one to the base of one side of one of the handles. I used a double layer of tulle, but fabric or thick ribbon would work too. I like the tails long, but you can totally make it shorter too. :)

So fun, right?! What do you think?

PS. Glitter felt is my new fave! Stay tuned for a couple more things I created with the two sheets I bought!
