Sweet Grocery Store Easter Treats

I hope you all had a beautiful Easter. Despite it being so different than usual, we really had a sweet day. And I am so thankful we were able to “see” so much of our family online.

The day before Easter, Chris was doing a grocery store run for us and I decided it would be fun to grab a few things to make some EASY Easter treats to help keep things fun and festive. We had such a great time making them together and I loved how they turned out- so I wanted to be sure to share them with you so you can tuck them away for next year.

The first thing we made are these sweet spring nests. Olivia really enjoyed making these which was the best part of all. Simply make rice crispy treats per the recipe on the box (all you need is the cereal, marshmallows and butter.) Instead of placing the finished mixture onto a tray, scoop it into a muffin tin to create the little nest shape. Once it’s formed you can pop it out and then add some Cadbury Eggs. That’s it! Adding the eggs was definitely the highlight and can totally serve as a color sorting activity for younger kids. Olivia decided to make each one have one egg in every color and really seemed so proud when they were all done.

The second treat we made was this adorable bunny cake! We used an organic boxed cake (Annie’s) with organic vanilla frosting (Wholesome) and cut bunny ears out of cardstock. We used a white carnation for the cute, fluffy tail. Olivia really got a kick out of this one too and we loved having it on Easter. I couldn’t believe how cute and easy these both were. I think they may just be new staples for us!
